Botox Kalamazoo

Your facial expressions make your face look alive, but they also cause lines and wrinkles where they pull on the skin. Botox® halts the activity of specific facial muscles. You can keep your natural expressions and get rid of the wrinkles in one easy step.

How Does Botox® Work?

Botox® works by stopping communication between the targeted facial muscles and the nerves that signal them to contract. It uses botulinum toxin A, which stops the nerve from sending these signals. As a result, the muscle can relax and stop pulling on the overlying skin. Without the tension from the muscles, your skin will become smoother and more youthful-looking.

How Much is Botox®?

Costs for Botox® will vary, with locations in or near cities often charging higher prices. Botox® pricing can either give you one cost for an entire area of your face or a price per unit. According to Cosmopolitan, treating the forehead area can cost $250 to $600 or more. For people who only want a small amount of Botox®, paying by the unit could make a more cost-effective option. Costs per unit range from $10 to $25 or more.

Botox® vs. Dysport® vs. Jeuveau™

All three of these products are neurotoxins that work by acting on the same neurotransmitter. They have small differences in a formula that may make one a better choice for you. Dysport® results often become visible a few days sooner than the others. Jeuveau™ may give you a more natural, subtle look. At West Michigan Plastic Surgery, we offer all three options so we can find the ideal one for your needs.

Where Can I Have Botox®?

Botox® treats lines and wrinkles in three areas: crow’s feet around the eyes, horizontal forehead creases, and vertical wrinkles between the eyebrows. Each area will require a different amount of Botox®, so pricing per area will differ. Doctors use Botox® all over the body to treat a wide range of medical conditions.

Am I a Good Candidate for Botox®?

If you have expression lines and wrinkles, you may make a good candidate for Botox®. Most people can have Botox®, which has an extensive safety record. If you have ever had a reaction to any product of this type, you are probably not a candidate.

Is There Any Downtime With Botox®?

Botox® requires no downtime. You can have the ten-minute treatment on a lunch break and return to work afterward. The most common side effects are a small amount of swelling or bruising at the injection sites.

What Results Will I See With Botox®?

Botox® results start to develop over the next three days to a week. You can expect your results to last three to four months. Many people schedule regular Botox® sessions to keep their wrinkle-free look indefinitely.
