Liposuction Recovery Timeline
The timeline for liposuction recovery is mainly going to depend on the area that has been treated. However, here is a general timeline:
Following the Procedure
Liposuction will usually be a day procedure. This means you typically won’t need to stay in the hospital overnight.
You need to arrange for a relative or friend to collect you, as you cannot drive yourself home.
Dr. Holley may provide you with antibiotics to take straight after the treatment to lower the risk of any infection.
Bandages or an elasticated support corset will be fitted to the treatment area afterward to lower bruising or swelling.
After One Week
You will typically need to wear the support garments for a few weeks.
You will need between a week and ten days to recover to the point whereby you can return to work.
However, you should still avoid any strenuous activities at this stage. General movement and walking will not be a problem, though.
After One Year
The results are not always noticeable straight after the treatment due to swelling. In fact, it can often take six months for the area to fully settle.
After one year, you will certainly be able to see the full results of your treatment.
