Breast Augmentation Kalamazoo

Uneven or small breasts can make you feel less confident. If you are struggling with a loss of volume in your breasts due to weight loss or pregnancy, or if you are unhappy with the size and shape of your breasts, breast augmentation may be the solution you need for a natural-looking, perky chest!

How Does Breast Augmentation Work?

Breast augmentation improves your breasts’ size and shape with silicone or saline implants. These implants come in various shapes and sizes so that your procedure can be tailored to your cosmetic goals.

Before your breast augmentation, Dr. Holley will have a consultation with you to help you choose the size, style, and placement of your implant. During your consultation, you can see what your breast augmentation results could look like using Vectra® 3D imaging, so you can feel confident that you’ll love the results of your augmentation.

At West Michigan Plastic Surgery, breast augmentation is an outpatient procedure, which means you can return home to rest within a few hours after your treatment. During your procedure, our board-certified anesthesiologist will place you under general anesthesia. Dr. Holley will then make incisions in your breast and place the implant following the specifications you requested during your consultation. The procedure takes one to two hours to complete.

How Long After Breast Augmentation Can I Workout?

Like with any surgery, you will need to take time to rest and recover after your breast augmentation. Dr. Holley is committed to helping you achieve an optimal and quick recovery, which is why he has devised a recovery plan that may get you back to light activities in as little as 24 hours.

It is important to avoid strenuous exercise while you are recovering. You can typically return to light cardio workouts after two weeks and all forms of exercise after six weeks. After you have healed from treatment, your breast implants will not impact your ability to exercise and lead an active lifestyle.

You will likely experience swelling, bruising, and discomfort after your procedure, but this is normal and will take some time to fade. We will provide you with a compression garment to help minimize swelling and keep your implants in place as you heal.

How Long Do Breast Implants Last?

Breast augmentation is an excellent long-term procedure to achieve a full, perky chest. Breast implants typically last up to 15 years, after which you should schedule an appointment to see if your need to replace your implants. Breast implant revision is available should you need to replace or adjust your implants.
