Mommy Makeover Recovery Overview
It is important to recognize that the recovery timescale can vary with a mommy makeover, as the treatment is customized. Therefore, it truly depends on the type of procedures that are incorporated. Of course, this is something we will discuss with you during your consultation so you can get a better understanding.
Directly After Your Mommy Makeover
After you have had your mommy makeover, the bandages or gauze will be applied to your incisions. If you have had any sort of breast surgery, a support bra or elastic bandage will be applied so that the breasts are supported and swelling is minimized.
Post Op: Week 1
You may need to wear a compression garment so that swelling is controlled in the buttocks, waist, and abdomen area. Dr. Holley will provide you with instructions on how to care for yourself while at home. It is important that you take it easy and don’t exert yourself too much.
Post Op: Month 1
Once a month has passed, you should be able to return to your usual activities. Any swelling will have gone down by now and you should feel 100 percent within yourself. Of course, this all depends on the extent of the surgery and so it is critical to follow the specific advice that you have been given.
Post Op: Year 1
After a year has passed, you will have made a complete recovery. The scars from the surgery should have all but disappeared by now and you should be enjoying the full effects of the treatment that you have had.
Am I a Candidate for a Mommy Makeover?
A good candidate for a mommy makeover is someone who is in good general health and a non-smoker. It is also important that you have realistic expectations from the treatment. This is something that Dr. Holley will discuss with you in full during your consultation.
