Your skin loses its natural luster over time, but MicroLaserPeel® by Sciton is an innovative skin rejuvenation treatment that can beautify your skin and restore a youthful appearance.
Here at West Michigan Plastic Surgery, Kalamazoo we recommend the MicroLaserPeel® to patients just starting to show signs of aging, but are not yet ready for surgery. It is a superficial skin rejuvenation treatment that targets mild to deep wrinkles that occur as a result of sun damage.
MicroLaserPeel® can also even out skin tone, and improve texture, keratosis, and scars. Popular treatment areas include the face, neck, décolletage, and hands.
MicroLaserPeel® provides controlled skin resurfacing to the epidermis, which is the outer layer of the skin. During treatment, the device is held in place while the computer-guided scanner moves the laser beam around the treatment area. The scanner ensures optimal precision and uniformity of the treatment.
MicroLaserPeel® removes the thin outermost-layer of old, damaged skin cells and reveals vibrant, younger-looking skin.
Since the MicroLaserPeel® does not penetrate deep into the skin there is minimal discomfort during treatment. Also, because the erbium laser is so precise, there is very little risk of scarring or any other complications.
If you are interested in a less invasive treatment for skin irregularities such as wrinkles, fine lines, and scars, you may be a good candidate for MicroLaserPeel®. During your consultation, Dr. Holley or an aesthetician will review your medical history and general health to determine if this is the right treatment for you.
MicroLaserPeel® takes 15-30 minutes depending on the size of the targeted area.
You can expect to see a noticeable change in the texture and tightness of the skin after the treatment. The skin will look smoother, healthier, and more vibrant when healing is complete.
You can get excellent skin rejuvenation results with just one MicroLaserPeel® treatment, but the number of treatments needed will vary based on your aesthetic goals.
Immediately after treatment, you may experience some mild redness and swelling, and the treated skin will peel away within 3-4 days. Most patients are able to return to work 3-4 days after the procedure, but this timeline may vary depending on the depth of treatment.
The skin will be very sensitive to sunlight in the first few days after MicroLaserPeel®. It’s therefore important to apply broad-spectrum sunscreen when going outdoors.
MicroLaserPeel® can be fine-tuned to fit the unique needs of each patient. It is a mild to moderate treatment that can be adjusted to a more superficial procedure with practically no downtime, or a deeper procedure that requires 3-4 days of downtime.
The minimal downtime required after MicroLaserPeel® makes it ideal for people that have little time to spare for recovery after a skin rejuvenation treatment.
