Achieve Glowing, Younger-Looking Skin

The healthy, luminous glow of our skin fades over time due to factors such as aging and excess sun exposure but the HALO™ laser can restore the glow and smooth texture of your skin.

The HALO™ laser is a premier skin resurfacing treatment that delivers consistent results with minimal downtime. It is the first and only hybrid fractional laser that can be used to address a host of skin concerns including wrinkles and fine lines, uneven skin tone, enlarged pores, and sun damage.

At West Michigan Plastic Surgery we recommend the HALO™ laser for patients in Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids looking to correct complexion issues and rejuvenate their skin.

How Does The HALO™ Laser Work?

HALO™ is a hybrid fractional laser. Fractional lasers work by creating microscopic zones in the skin while leaving surrounding areas intact. The areas of thermal injury trigger the skin’s natural repair process and help to accelerate healing.

HALO™ is a revolutionary laser treatment that combines ablative (2940nm) and non-ablative (1470nm) wavelengths in a single treatment. The ablative and non-ablative wavelengths are applied to the same microscopic treatment zone simultaneously.

The ablative wavelength targets the damaged outer layer of the skin and addresses textural issues such as wrinkles, scars, and mild sun damage. The non-ablative wavelength penetrates further into the skin to the dermal layer, where it targets pigment issues and stimulates the production of collagen.

The HALO™ is a very customizable treatment because the wavelengths can be tuned independently for precise coverage and depth. The laser can be adjusted to deliver a superficial treatment with minimal downtime or a more intensive treatment that requires a longer downtime. Patients, therefore, have the option to choose the type of treatment that best suits their lifestyle.

Treatment with the HALO™ laser is virtually pain-free because it has an integrated cooling system that monitors the temperature throughout treatment. In addition, a topical anesthetic cream is utilized to keep you comfortable throughout treatment.

Am I A Good Candidate For HALO™ Laser Treatment?

If you would like to improve the health and appearance of your skin, HALO™ laser treatment may be a good option for you. HALO™ is a flexible laser that is suitable for all skin types and can be used on the face and body.

How Long Does A Typical Treatment Take?

Depending on the size of the area being treated, HALO™ laser treatment can take 30-60 minutes. Pretreatment with a topical anesthetic cream can add additional time.

What Results Will I See?

The outcomes of the HALO™ laser will depend on the intensity of treatment, so patient response will vary. After healing, the skin will look radiant and more youthful. Most patients will see superficial results in 3-7 days, but your skin will continue to experience improved regeneration for several months. The results of a HALO™ treatment can last for years, especially if combined with a tailored maintenance skincare regimen.

Is There Any Downtime?

Downtime after HALO™ laser treatment varies based on the intensity of the procedure. Superficial treatments may need little to no downtime, but more intensive treatments will require 2-3 days of downtime. Sunscreen should be used regularly for 30 days after fractional laser treatment as the skin will be very sensitive to sunlight.
