Dermal fillers are an amazing tool to prevent and reverse the signs of aging – they can add volume to the cheeks, plump up thinning lips, smooth out wrinkles in the mid and lower face area, and more. But what is a good age to start the treatment?
Dermal Filler by the Numbers
The age that most women get dermal fillers is between 40 and 54. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons Annual Report, this age range received over a million soft tissue filler treatments in 2016, good for 17 percent of all procedures. This same set also went for a whopping 4 million Botox®-type injections that year.
The younger age brackets make up a much smaller portion of the population pursuing the use of dermal fillers. According to the report, 30- to 39-year-olds received 278,000 filler injections and 20- to 29-year-olds received 69,000 filler injections, which only account for 12 percent of all their minimally invasive cosmetic procedures.
