How Blepharoplasty Works
Blepharoplasty, more simply known as eyelid surgery, is a common cosmetic surgery procedure that can take as little as an hour or as long as three hours, depending on what area or areas are being worked on. During blepharoplasty, Dr. Holley will remove excess skin and fat from around your eyes and eyelids. He can also tighten muscles to reshape your eyelids. If you are bothered by sagging or excess skin, blepharoplasty may be a great option for you.
How Long Does Blepharoplasty Last?
The results will typically last from anywhere between 5-7 years. Lower lid blepharoplasty rarely needs to be repeated. If you notice your eyelids begin to sag again over time, you may benefit from a brow lift rather than another eyelid surgery.
Am I A Good Candidate for Blepharoplasty?
If you are bothered by blepharoptosis, or eyelid drooping, due to muscle weakness, you are a good candidate for blepharoplasty. You can also benefit from blepharoplasty if you suffer from puffy eyes, heavy bags under your eyes, and excess skin or fat around the lids of your eyes. Dr. Holley will determine if eyelid surgery is the right choice for you by examining your skin, face, and eyelids during a personal consultation.
